Born in Waldorf, Minnesota on October 18, 1910, she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Janike) Fogal. She was baptized on December 11, 1910 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Janesville. She attended school in Waldorf. Rose married Randall Lehmann on December 22, 1927 in Waldorf. Rose was confirmed on March 29, 1934 at Medo Lutheran Church. She worked cleaning houses in the Waldorf area and also at Land O'Lakes in New Richland. Rose then worked as a cook at the restaurant in Waldorf for several years and later at Herter's Inc. in Waseca for 14 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. Rose was a member of Medo Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and she was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Waldorf.
Rose is survived by nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Edward Fogal of Rushford, William (Irene) Fogal of Mankato, and John (Rosa) Fogal of Owatonna; two sisters, Katherine Meyer of California and Marie Kerbo of Cave Junction, OR; two sisters-in-law, Rosella Fogal of Mankato and Doris Fogal of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1977, two daughters-Arvella Amsrud and Rosabelle Alexander, one grandson-Gale Thompson, one granddaughter-Karen Thompson, four brothers-James, Francis, Benjamin and Chris; and four sisters-Annie, Lizzie, Stella, and June in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Medo Lutheran Church rural Mapleton with Rev. David Danner officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Medo Lutheran Cemetery.
