Marian Eileen Hedges, 79, Olympia, died of cancer March 26, 1991, in her home.
She was born Jan. 8, 1912, to Edward and Anna Raymond, in Cornish, N.H., and was raised in Seattle.
She was graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1930 and attended the University of Washington, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
She married Darrell Hedges on May 29, 1936, in University Presbyterian Church, Seattle.
Mrs. Hedges was a housewife and a secretary at Lincoln Elementary School.
She was a member of the United Churches of Olympia since June 1951, the Olympia Garden Club and the Olympia Golf and Country Club's ladies group.
Mrs. Hedges was a volunteer with the Salvation Army Auxiliary, Kiwanis Ladies, Big Brothers/Sisters, Boy Scouts of America, YMCA, Red Cross and the PTA.
Surviving Mrs. Hedges, besides her husband of the family home, are three sons, Loren, Bow, Ron, North Bend, and Paul, Olympia; also eight grandchildren and step-grandchildren and two great-grandhildren.
A private family memorial service for Mrs. Hedges was conducted March 30 at Olympic Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Mark Dowdy.
Cremation arrangements are by Bleitz Funeral Home, Seattle.
