Arvin Skaggs

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 24, 11 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home in Paintsville, Ky., for Arvin Skaggs, 87, of Flat Gap, Ky., who passed away Saturday, Nov. 22 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mr. Skaggs was born May 30, 1921 at Barnrock, Ky., son of the late Andrew Edward and Ova Kelly Skaggs. He was a retired teacher with the Johnson County School system. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Arlie and Freeman Skaggs.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Wallin Skaggs; his sister, Arlene Skaggs of Flat Gap; one niece, Alice Kestner; and one great nephew, Cody Kestner.
The service was officiated by the Revs. Tobe Wheeler and Harold Salyer, with burial in the Skaggstown Church Cemetery at Flat Gap.
