Retired Cattleman, Farmer Buried
Hazlehurst - S. T. Berry, 80; prominent retired farmer and cattleman died suddenly at his home in Simpson County, near Georgetown.
Mr. Berry had been in failing health for some time, however, his death came as a shock to his family and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, conducted by his pastor, the Reverend Reverend B. E. Phillips, who was assisted assisted by the Reverend Guy Little. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Survivors are his widow, nine children: Mesdames R. C. Shows of Hazlehurst, Louis Carpenter of the Stronghope Community C. L. Albritton and Myers Buckley of Pinola. Walker Wilson of Memphis, Tenn., Roy Murray, Jackson, and Mrs. John B. Newsom of New Hebron, Messrs. Robert Berry of New Hebron and Leffie Berry of Ellisville. Twelve grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren also survive him.
