November 30, 1850, on the Vessel "Bark Solan", a young man traveled from Brunswick, Germany, named Conrad Johann Krueger, age 24 years, and his younger brother Fredrich, age 19 years. The occupation given to the immigration boat captain for Conrad was a "Shepherd" and his brother Fredrich gave his occupation as "Joiner".
Little else is known of Conrad before 1850, other than in 1845 before he left Bissendorf, Germany, he purchased land from Johann Voges. Voges, was selling his property (farmland, meadows, woodlands, peat bogs, etc) together with all his equipment to Krueger. Voges left for America and gave his brother Dietrich, power-of-attorney to act in his stead. The deal had been completed before Johann Conrad Krueger left for America.
Conrad Krueger delivered meat to San Antonio, Houston, and Indianola, after his arrival in New Braunfels. Conrad was 24 years of age, and Anna Maria Sophia his bride was 8 years of age when they came to America on the same boat.
When Anna Maria Sophia Moehrig became 16 years of age, she and Conrad were married. He had waited for her from the time of the boat trip across the ocean when they were both passengers, until she became of an age that they might marry.
Conrad applied for and received Naturalization in 1859, which is recorded in Comal County, Texas Courthouse, Volume C, and page 210.
Conrad and Anna Maria Sophia, later known as Mary, enjoyed a farm between San Marcos and Kyle; the place became known as the "Krueger Ranch". Conrad Krueger died March 3, 1911. Anna Maria "Mary" Sophia Moehrig Krueger died March 29, 1920. They are buried in Kyle Cemetery, outside Kyle, Texas.
