Claude Stanley Raymond, 53, husband of Mrs. Maude Hollister McQuinn Raymond of 218 Main Street, died suddenly of a coronary thrombosis at 4:40 Wednesday afternoon, June 1, 1949 at the aluminum plant, where he was a machinist.

Mr. Raymond had complained of pains in his chest earlier in the day yet he insisted on going to work on the 4 o'clock shift.

Mr. Raymond was born May 22, 1896, in Wales, Ontario, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Raymond. He attended schools in Wales and Cornwall and in early life married Miss Elsie Butler. She died about six years ago.

Mr. Raymond and Mrs. Maude Hollister McQuinn, widow of William McQuinn, were married in Massena on November 30, 1946. For the past two years he had worked at the aluminum plant.

In World War I, he served as a second lieutenant with the Canadian Air Force.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters; one son; two sisters; three brothers and a stepson.
