This is my paternal grandfather, and I've hit a brick wall trying to trace his parents. The only somewhat confirmed place I've found them all together is in the 1880 US Census in Lower Penns Neck, Salem County, NJ. If you have any information, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Father: William T. Hamilton
Mother: Mary Jane (Patrick?) Hamilton

According to family tradition, Frank was an only child who was orphaned early (not necessarily supported by available records).

He enlisted in Company L, 15th U.S. Infantry Regiment on November 15, 1898 in Philadelphia to fight in the Spanish American War. Trained in Alabama, served as part of the Cuban Occupation (1899), garrison duty at Fort Columbus New York (1900), and briefly in China during the Boxer Rebellion enroute to the Philippine Insurrection (1900-1901).

Mustered out in Philadelphia, PA, where he met and married Hildegarde English and they had two sons (Francis & Walter). Moved from Philadelphia to Albany, NY where their son Carl was born (my Dad), then to Florida, and finally to Santa Monica, CA.
