PLATTSBURGH -- Laura "Betty" Bromley, 81, of Leonard Avenue, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home.
She was born in Plattsburgh on June 25, 1926, the daughter of James and Laura (Shields) Lombard.
Betty married Calvin Bromley at her home in Beekmantown on Aug. 13, 1944.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Plattsburgh, where she was at one time the treasurer. She enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher and loved being with the children in the nursery.
Betty was a secretary for the Plattsburgh School District, then to the Beekmantown School District. She also was the tax collector for Beekmantown for many years, until she went to work for her husband.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Calvin Bromley of Plattsburgh; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Margretta of Spofford, N.H.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Francis Patnode of Plattsburgh, Bonita and Richard Atwood of West Chazy; a sister, Melva Morse of Belleview, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Carol Lombard of Cadyville; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Plattsburgh. Burial will be in West Chazy Rural Cemetery in the spring.
Donations may be made in Betty's memory to the Church of the Nazarene in Plattsburgh.
Arrangements are in the care of the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements are in the care of the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court St., Plattsburgh.
