Andrew was the Sheriff of Washington County when the War started. He joined Confederate Service in 1863 and served as a Private in Company C, 3rd Battalion MS Cavalry Reserve. He was discharged in March of 1865. Andrew was married twice, first to Elizabeth but divorced in 1851. Second to Mrs. Mary Belle Blackburn, widow of Capt. George T. Blackburn.
