He attended the Strawberry rural school near Linneus, living in that community until he enlisted in the Army during World War I. He was united in marriage to Martha Christian [sic] Robbins on June 29, 1919. They established their home on the old Robbins homestead where they spent their entire married life. He was preceded in death by Mrs. Taylor on November 24, 1952.
He was active in both church and community life. When a young man, he united with the Strawberry Methodist church and later moved his membership to the Meadville Methodist church. He was a member of the AF&AM Lodge of Meadville and the American Legion.
Mr. Taylor is survived by three children, Mrs. Marjorie Young of Pueblo, Colo., Jay Robert Taylor of Meadville and Mrs. Florence McCoy of Colorado Springs; five grandchildren; two brothers, George Taylor of Laclede, Missouri and Chriss Taylor of Wheeling; and one sister, Mrs. Catherine Beckett of Kansas City.
The Rev. E. G. Winkfield, pastor of the Methodist church in Henrietta, assisted by Rev. W. A. Pollack, pastor of the Meadville Methodist church, conducted the final rites.
