Rachel Jones Crocker, 94, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008. She was the widow of Crawley Crocker. She was a retired teacher with the Southampton County school system. She was a very active member of Bryant Baptist Church. She served as Mother of the church, Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible school teacher, deaconess, member of the Missionary Circle, secretary of the Church Union and the Bethany Baptist Church Association. Mother Crocker leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Della Price (David); one son, Robert Crocker (Theresa); five grandchildren, Ali, Iben, Allen, Dean and LaMari; and four great-grandchildren, Amber, Jaden, Ashley and Ysabel. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bryant Baptist Church, Courtland, by the Rev. Johnnie Lyons, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Crocker will be placed in the church at 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service. Engram Funeral Home, 1001 Armory Drive, Franklin, VA 23851, is in charge.
