KILGORE - Services for Nora Turner, 84, of Kilgore, will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2008, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in Kilgore Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mrs. Turner passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008, in Kilgore, Texas.

Nora was born on February 4, 1924, in Cleburne, Texas, to Charles and Nora Schlieper, deceased. She attended and graduated from Cleburne schools. After more than 30 years of service, Nora retired from East Texas Saltwater in 1989. In her spare time, Nora enjoyed her family and was known for playing the piano in area churches. Nora was a member of First Baptist Church in Kilgore.

Survivors include her sons, James and Marie Turner of Nevada, Texas, and John and Sherry Turner of Longview; grandsons, G. Marc Turner of San Antonio and B.J. Burrow of Taylor. Other survivors include her brother, Charles R. Schlieper Sr. of Temple; nephews, Charles Schlieper Jr. of Temple and W.E. "Bill" Schlieper of Cleburne; and niece, Carolyn Hussey of Fort Worth.

Mrs. Turner's husband, Gene Turner, preceded her in death.
