DEATH OF Wm. Cole, Sr.
Wm. P. Cole, Sr., one of the oldest men in Wallowa county died Sunday night at his home 1 ½ miles southwest of Joseph. Funeral was held from the Joseph M. E. church, Tuesday at 11 a. m., the pastor Rev. A. L. Epwarth, assisted by Rev. W. P. Samms of Enterprise, officiating. The deceased would have been 90 years of age next June. He spent more than half a century as a minister of the Baptist church, but had long since retired from the active work in that field. He came to this county 29 years ago. Mr. Cole was thrice married, his last wife dying many years ago. He leaves a large number of sons and daughters, and grandchildren.
