Beatrice Maude Fox Fairbanks, died Jan. 12, 1992 at her home in Salt Lake City.

Born April 3, 1897, Salt Lake City, to Jesse W., Jr. and Rosemary Johnson Fox.

Married Avard T. Fairbanks, Honolulu, Hawaii, June 25, 1918, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS. Temple, he preceded her in death January 1, 1987.

Faithful wife, strongest supporter, promoter, and admirer of her late husband, sculptor, Avard T. Fairbanks, mother of their eight sons and two daughters.

She was the provider of a foster home for many disadvantaged children. Graduated from Granite High School where she served as President of the Girls; attended college at the University of Oregon and University of Michigan. Member of Delta Gamma Sorority. Spent one year in Florence, Italy during her husband's Guggenheim Fellowship, spoke fluent Italian.She was involved in Faculty Womens Organization at both the University of Michigan and University of Utah.

Served on the MIA. Board of the Bonneville Stake, LDS Church, of which she was an active member. She served as a Page for the Utah State Legislature. A Charter Member of the Adoptive Greek Mothers Association, a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

She enjoyed all facets of a full life. She found her greatest satisfaction in the accomplishments of others whose lives she had touched. She asked little for herself and gave much to others. She listened to all, and devoted her life to the service of other people. Our beloved mother will not be forgotten.

Survivors include, sons; Avard F., Eugene, Elliott A., Justin F.,Virgil F., Johathan L., David N. F., Grant R., Daughters; Maria Fairbanks Hansen and Georgia Fairbanks. 56 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, brothers, Ellis Fox and David Fox.

Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, January 18, 1992, 3:00 p.m.., Yale Ward Chapel, 1431 E. Gilmer Drive (1050 South). The family will greet friends, Friday, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, and Saturday the hour prior to services at the ward.
