"Charles F. Robbins, 88, father of Mrs. Earl Sallee and Chester Robbins of this city, passed away at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon in a hospital in Brookfield. He had been ill about a month.

Mr. Robbins was born December 25, 1861, on a farm five miles south of Meadville, the eldest son of William and Martha Christy Robbins. He had lived in that community all his life. On February 22, 1888, he was united in marriage to Clara Sensenich at Meadville, and to this union were born five children. He was a charter member of the Center Presbyterian Church south of Meadville and had served as an elder for many years.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lottie Brown of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Earl Sallee of this city; two sons, Harry Robbins of Laclede and Chester Robbins of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Ward of St Johns, Kan., and Mrs. Bird Smiley of Wheeling; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His wife and one child preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Wright funeral home in Brookfield. The Rev. Lanning will conduct the services and burial will be in the family lot in the Meadville cemetery." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, February 16, 1950
