In May 1948, a Mrs. John Glass of Kirkville, Iowa (relationship unknown) applied to the War Department for a military headstone for Cyrus Sinnard, which was placed next to the tombstone of his 1st wife in a different cemetery from where he is buried. Both of Cyrus' markers make note of his service in Co. F, 7th Iowa Infantry.
