Myrtlene is survived by her Husband, Herman Grant, Sr.; Son, Herman Grant, Jr. and wife, Camilla; Granddaughter, Amy Schillage and Great Grandson, Austin Schillage. Mrs. Myrtlene is survived by her Sisters, Betzell Hill and Katherine Booth and her Brother, Hans Eppinette and wife, Betty and her Sister-in-law, Gloria Grant. Mrs. Myrtlene is survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Myrtlene earned her Degree from Louisiana Tech and her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the former Northeast Louisiana University. She was a dedicated first grade Teacher for forty years. She helped many young children through her love of the teaching field. Myrtlene was a charter member of Cedar Baptist Church serving with devotion and love until the onset of Alzheimer's disease prevented her from continuing her service.
Funeral services for Myrtlene E. Grant were held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Cedar Baptist Church, Archibald, LA with Rev. Jeff Smart officiating. Interment followed in Lynn Cemetery, Archibald, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA
Pallbearers were Connie Eppinette, Samuel Smith, Johnny Burson, Winston Gable, Rhett Gable, and Lee Booth, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Dane Clark, Scott Allen, Chris Turbeville, and Dustin Allen.
A special Thank You of love and appreciation is given to Mrs. Myrtlene's Care Givers, Bobbie Dixon, Shelby Harris, and Willie Mae Lawson. The dedication and gentle care they provided made her journey one of ease and dignity until the Lord called her home.
