She was born in 1916 in Elmira Heights, N.Y., to Mekita and Tekla Moskal Obuhanych.
Mrs. Allen graduated from Elmira College in 1937 with an AB degree. Shortly thereafter, she moved to lower Bucks County, where she lived in Langhorne and Levittown, until retiring to the Carlisle area in 1997.
Mrs. Allen started her career as a teacher at the Woods School in Langhorne. She married in 1945, started a family and subsequently established her own business as a resident real estate broker and property manager. She will be remembered as a devoted mother to her children and a woman with an indomitable and inspirational will and spirit.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her son, Jeffrey B. Allen of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; two daughters, Judith Allen Brough of Gardners and Virginia Allen Lengel of Russell Springs, KY.; five grandchildren, Julia and Christina Allen, Brenton and Charles Lengel, and Kasey Brough; a sister Anna Spiegel; and a brother, David E. Obuhanych.
A private graveside memorial will be held at the Middletown Friends Cemetery in Langhorne.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Middletown Friends Meeting, 453 W. Maple Ave., Langhorne, PA 19047 or to the Forever Caring Fund of The Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
