Ezekiel and Esther had fifteen children. In the late 1820s and early 1830s, six of the children moved from eastern Tennessee to make their homes in McLean Co., Illinois. These six were: Ezekiel, Edward, Isaac, Abram, Elizabeth, and Esther. A seventh child, Mary, moved to Mclean County in 1849.

It was Abram who went back to Tennessee ca. 1837 to fetch his widowed mother, Esther, to Illinois. He made the trip to Tennessee on horseback, the return trip in a carriage. At that time Esther was 76 years of age."
