Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Survivors are a son, John of Newton; two daughters, Betty (Mrs. Fred) Pittman of Newton and June (Mrs. Roy) Taylor of Johnston; eight grandchildren; and eleven great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard, in 1975; a sister Leona, in 1975; and a brother Ancel, in 1987.
Mrs. Synhorst was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chat-A-Bit Club and a 50-year member of Newton Chapter 100, Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Synhorst, a homemaker, had taught school in Galesburg prior to her marriage.
The daughter of John and Louise (Herbig) Reuvers, she was born May 30, 1889, in Pella, was graduated from Pella Community High School, and attended Central College in Pella. She was married to Richard Synhorst September 16, 1915, in Pella.
