Donna J. Treese, 73, Roaring Spring, died Thursday morning at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Herbert E. and Sarah Rebecca (Baker) Grace. She married Howard T. "Ted" Treese Dec. 17, 1956, in Roaring Spring.
Surviving are her husband; three children: Cheryl A. Treese and Becky J. Shaw, both of Roaring Spring, and Kevin J. Treese and wife, Cindy, of Dubois; five grandchildren: Jason Treese, Kirsten Sharpe, Nicholas Treese, Stephen Mitarnowski and Korey Treese; a brother, Herbert Grace and wife, Linda, of Duncansville; and three sisters: Carol Thomas and husband, Bill, of Milesburg, Sharon McIntyre and husband, Dave, of Duncansville, and Linda Lingenfelter and husband, Phil, of Claysburg. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael H. Treese, who died Sept. 11, 1999; and a son-in-law, Ray L. Shaw Jr., who died Dec. 14, 2007.
Donna was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring, where she retired as church secretary with many years of service. She had previously worked at Garver Memorial YMCA, Roaring Spring, and the Jacob Berman Co., Altoona.
She was a 1952 graduate of Roaring Spring High School. Donna especially loved cooking for her children and grandchildren, was an avid reader and enjoyed music. She was a member of the Junior Women's Club, Roaring Spring.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Nov. 21, 2008, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday by Pastor Dwaine Crebs. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
