Charles Edward Applewhite

Charles Edward Applewhite, 44, of Winona was dead on arrival at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was employed in Winona Public Schools as Social Service Instructor. Mr. Applewhite was financial chairman and usher of Haven Methodist Church, Korean War Veteran, Mason, Member of Mississippi Educators Association and a member of Haven Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Jean Applewhite of Winona; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Ester Harbin of Winona; grandfather, John Murph of Winona; one son, Charles Frederick Applewhite of Winona; one sister, Mrs. Louise Scott of Memphis.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. B. J. Cameron at Haven United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 22 at 11:00 P.M. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery with Roberts & Sons Mortuary in charge.

Pallbearers were Robert Berry, Jr., Travis Bailey, James Bailey, Floyd Bailey, Raymond Bailey, J. R. Morgan.

Honorary Pallbearers were the Masons.
