Mr. Stratton was a retired carpenter with CESA Contractors. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Marine Corps where he received the Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 144 in Gilbertsville.
He is survived by two daughters, Fay Powell and her husband Gerald of Benton, KY; and Joan Travis and her husband Keith of Benton, KY; one son, John D. Stratton and his wife Sandra of Benton, KY; one sister, Charlene Dunn of Neddleton, MS; four grandchildren, Jondra Shadowen and her husband Jake of Benton, KY; Jessica Denfip and her husband Jacob of Gilbertsville, KY; Julia Lyles and her husband Adam of Lexington, KY; and James Travis of Nashville, TN; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; his wife, Sarah Almeta Egner "Sis" Stratton; six brothers, five sisters and his parents were Lewis Stratton and Josephine Lee Stratton.
