Visitation for Alice Weinlader Schurr, 93, of Yuma, Ariz., formerly of the Chebanse area, will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Chebanse, where she was a member. Revs. Wayne Weinlader and Lee Bacchi will officiate.

Burial will be in Sts. Mary and Joseph Cemetery in Chebanse.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Yuma, 1824 S. 8th Ave., Yuma, Ariz. 85364.

She died Monday (Jan. 10, 2005) at the Bee-Hives (Hospice Unit) in Yuma.

Mrs. Schurr was an election judge in Kankakee County for 20 years.

She was born Aug. 27, 1911, near Irwin, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude Devine Keliher.

Her first husband, Raymond F. Weinlader, whom she married Dec. 29, 1930, in Kankakee, died Nov. 1, 1973. She then married Alfred C. Schurr Dec. 5, 1981, in Reddick. He died Aug. 28, 1994.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, James R. and Marilyn Weinlader, Rev. Wayne T. Weinlader M.M., all of Yuma, Ariz., J. Keith and Barbara Weinlader of Lancaster, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Andrew Pilara of Orinda, Calif., Anne and Bobby Donovan of Astoria, N.Y.; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Mary and Willard Jakob of Clifton; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Ronald and Darlene Schurr of Chebanse; two sisters, Nora Keliher of Clifton, Mae Graveline of New Carlisle, Ind.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

An infant son; one brother, Daniel Keliher; and one sister, Edna Bradshaw, are deceased.

Mrs. Schurr was a volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital for many years.

She was a former member of the Kankakee Woman's Club and a member of the Kankakee County Home Extension.
