Mildred Jane "Millie" Tingle was born February 4, 1853, in Kentucky, the daughter of James Madison and Mary E. (Ewing) Tingle.
Millie outlived three husbands. She first married James Crim on January 11, 1872, in Henry County, Kentucky. James was born November 8, 1849, in Kentucky, the son of James and Louisa (Johnston) Crimm. Millie and James had the following known children:
1. Lieu Ellen (Crim) Foree (1875-1961)
James died April 22, 1879, in Henry County, Kentucky. Millie then married James Hampton Jones on January 8, 1881, in Henry County, Kentucky. James was born June 12, 1854, in Henry County, Kentucky, the son of William Henry and Elizabeth Jane (Wilson) Jones. Millie and James had the following known children:
2. Oather B. Jones (1881-1911)
3. Lizzie Jones (1886-?)
James died March 1, 1903, in Kentucky. Millie then married James A. Higgs on October 2, 1909, in Henry County, Kentucky. James was born April 1842 in Boone County, Indiana, the son of James A. and Perlena May (Ransdell) Higgs. He had been previously married to Susan Elizabeth Tingle (1843-1908) (no direct relation) and had two daughters and two sons. Millie and James did not have any known children. James died in 1921.
In the 1930 Census, Millie is living with her daughter Lieu E. and her husband Trully Foree in Turners Station, Henry County, Kentucky. Millie died July 2, 1933, in Turner's Station, Henry County, Kentucky.
