Carroll Daily Times Herald - November 21, 1977 - Bert Leander Cox, 99, of rural Glidden in the Lanesboro area, died following a long illness at the St Anthony Nursing home Sunday at 12:30 pm where he had resided for the past three weeks. Prior to this, he had lived at the Carroll Manor for one year.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at the Lanesboro Methodist Church wtih Rev. Warren McFote officiating. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:00 am Wednesday, to lie in state. Internment will be in the Dickerson Cemetery north of Glidden, under the direction of Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home, Glidden.
Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse funeral home, Glidden, afternoon on Tuesday.
Mr Cox, son of Harvey and Ellen Jane Cox, was born on August 26, 1878 at rural Glidden. He was married to Ada Mosher Cox and Flora Miller, both of whom have preceded him in death. He was a lifelong resident of Lanesboro area and was a retired farmer at the age of 92. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lanesboro and the Farm Bureau.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Ted (Ella) Crum of Des Moines; six grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both wives; a daughter and two sons, two grandchildren and three sisters.
