Lenora Mildred Gillan, daughter of Edward and Pearl Gillan, was born near Oak, Nebraska, January 20, 1918, and departed this life August 14th, 1934, at the Superior hospital. She was one of the fine young women of Oak, a member of the Junior class in Nelson High School, and a member of the Oak Methodist Sunday school. She leaves to mourn her departure, her parents, Edward and Pearl Gillan; five sisters and three brothers: Hazel Widener of Lyons; Ada Belle Smalley of Oak; Roy Synder of Oak; Darlene and Betty at home; Claude, Jack and Howard Lloyd, all of Oak. Other relatives and many friends also mourn her going.

There fell upon the house a sudden gloom,
A shadow on those features fair and thin;
And softly from the hushed and darkend room
Two angels issued, where on went in. -- Longfellow.

The funeral secvices (sic) were held in Oak Friday morning at ten o'clock, conducted by Rev. W.B. Zimmerman. Interment was made at Edgar cemetery (sic).
