Eric Thomas Andrews, 37, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Dalhart. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart by Horizon Funeral Home. Amarillo arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.

Eric was born March 23, 1971, in Adrian, Mich., to Harold and Bonnie Andrews. He moved to Dalhart at the age of 6 months.

Eric attended school in Dalhart and graduated in the top 10 of the Class of 1989. After graduation, he attended Phoenix Institute of Technology in Phoenix and graduated in 1990, and worked for Dalhart Diesel.

Eric moved to Amarillo in 1991. He was employed by Rick Looby Investments in property management for 17 years, until the time of his death.

Eric was an avid NASCAR fan, loved to go four-wheelin' at the river and riding in the mud bogs. Most of his Friday nights were spent at Western Bowl, where he played on a bowling team for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He may not have told you with words, but he showed you with his actions that he loved and cared for you. He enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Pete Andrews, Monte Wesley and Earl Knoblauch; and a cousin, Doug Myers.

Survivors include a daughter, Kirsten, and her mother Jenny of Amarillo; his parents, Harold and Bonnie Andrews of Dalhart; two sisters, Lisa White and husband Randy and Renae Lenz and husband Patrick, all of Dalhart; nieces and nephews, Karley, Courtney, Konnor and Corbin White and Patrick II, Cortnie, Hunter Ann, Kassidy, Steven and Katelyn Lenz; grandmothers, Bettie Wood of Dalhart and Agnes Knoblauch of Ottawa Lake, Mich.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to The Eric Andrews Memorial Fund, in care of First United Bank, P.O. Box 50010, Amarillo, TX 79159.

Viewing will be today from noon to 8 p.m. at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home in Amarillo and Friday at Horizon Funeral Home in Dalhart.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Amarillo. The family will be at 1908 Kiowa Trail in Dalhart.
