Mandi Kay Alexander

Mandi Kay Alexander, 24 of Great Bend, died as the result of an unsolved homicide on September 4, 2002 in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born May 15, 1978, in Great Bend, the daughter of Guy and Karen Mullenix Sunderland.

She was a member of Extreme Hope Christian
Fellowship in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend for many years, coming from Bushton and Larned, she had worked at Rainbow Bakery and Bushton Cafe. She had been a clerk at the Dolly Madison Bakery for 3 days when on September 4, 2002 between 5:30 and 6:00 PM someone came into the store and murdered Mandi and Mary Drake, a 79 year old woman who was a customer of the bakery. This crime as yet to be solved.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Murray.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend with the Rev. Mike Joiner officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Friends may call from 5-9 tonight and from 9 a.m. to service time Monday, both at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the children's trust fund, in care of the funeral home.
