There will be a time of visitation at the funeral home, Monday September 17, 2012
5 pm-7 pm. She passed away September 13, 2012 in Longview, Texas.
Mrs. Townsend was born July 22, 1930 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Tommie and Grace Fogle, now deceased.
Mrs. Townsend graduated from Jefferson Davis High School, in Houston, Texas.
On August 7, 1950 she married Billy Wayne Townsend at Thornton Street Baptist Church I Houston, Texas and she was married to the love of her life for 62 years.
She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church in White Oak, Texas.
She was a loving Christian mother and caring grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was her family. In the past years, she enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
Mrs. Townsend is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Billy Townsend, of White Oak; two daughters, Beverly Barnett and her husband Gary, Sandy Dickerson and her husband Bobby both of white Oak, three grandchildren; Jason Ritterbusch of San Antonio, Cady Martin and her husband Cody of Longview and Cory Dickerson of White Oak; brother, Robert Fogle of Needville, Texas, sisters, Goldean Straughan of Pasadena, Texas, Elizabeth Collins of Tomball, Texas, Doris Owens of Spring, Texas, Lanell James of Valliant, Oklahoma and Barbara Gerland of Lufkin, Texas.
She is preceded in passing by her daughter Brenda Elaine Townsend and brothers, Tommie and Richard Fogle.
