Don H. Beck of Pasadena, former Gainesville native, passed away in Houston, TX on Thursday, November 20, 2008. He was born April 1, 1927 in Williston, Florida. Don was a member of Richey Street Baptist Church, served in the Merchant Marines and the US Air Force, retired from Champion Papers in 1989 and was a member of Gainesville Masonic Lodge for over 60 years. He was also a Ham Radio Operator for many years, N5KQR.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Beck; children, Karen Wallace and Denise Loe; sisters, Lolita Hazen, Elizabeth Black and Clarice Rippi; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Richey Street Baptist Church in Pasadena. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 from 6pm to 8pm at Fairmont Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at 10am at Fairmont Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at Houston National Cemetery.
