Funeral services for Estell E. Robinson, 85, of La Junta were held at 2 p.m. today at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Dennis Welch officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.Mr. Robinson died May 17, 2001, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 7, 1915, to Arthur E. and Mary E. (Cannon) Robinson at Sturgeon, Mo.He was the recipient of the La Junta Chamber of Commerce Wake-up Breakfast Sunshine Award in 1990. He also received the 2000 Kiwanis Club Distinguished Service Award and the Associated Charities Service Award and was twice recognized with the First Church of the Nazarene Distinguished Service Award.Mr. Robinson was active in the church and was a founding member of the Colorado Boys Ranch.He married Beryl Marshall Dec. 25, 1938, at La Junta. He was an industrial arts teacher at La Junta High School for 20 years.Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter Carolyn (Robert) Hoyt of Arcadia, Calif.; sons Larry (Donna) Robinson of Redmond, Ore., and Gerald (Terry) Robinson of Alta Loma, Calif.; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.He was preceded in death by sisters Floriene Claunch and Lena Mae Robinson, brother Chester Robinson and grandson Eric Robinson.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 1111 W. 10th St., La Junta CO 81050, either directly or through Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home.
