Funeral services for William C. Bemis of Flagg Station were held at the Unger Funeral home in Rochelle Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. and burial was in Daysville Cemetery. Mr. Bemis died at the Rochelle hospital Aug. 16, at the age of 76 years. He was the son of Clinton and Ida Bemis, and was born and reared in Nashua Township. He was married to Orpha Pierce of Ashton. Mr. Bemis was a carpenter and blacksmith by trade. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Wright, Algonquin; one son, Raymond, Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Olive Hepfer, Mrs. James Hay, Sr., both of Oregon, and Mrs. Alwilda Millard, Rockford; and one brother, Joseph C. Bemis of Oregon.
