Thomas Godfrey was born in Wichbold Dodderhill Worcestershire, England. He immigrated to Utah with his parents in 1862. They were on the ship "William Tapscot" They arrived in New York City and traveled by train to Winter Quarters NE and then traveled to Salt Lake by Wagon train traveling on the Henry Miller Company arriving on Oct 10 1862. He married Karen Maria Jensen in 1867. They had 10 children. He also married Karen's sister Caroline Jensen in 1880. They had 7 children. He and his two wives share a headstone.
