William B. Dockery was born in Tennessee in 1914. His parents were Hugh and Liller (Snapp) Dockery. He departed this life in 1981.

On July 30, 1938, William married Willie Mae Bacon.

He joined Bethal Presbyterian Church in Dandridge, Tennessee.

William and Willie Mae moved to LaGrange, Illinois where he started working with his brother, Carl, at Carl Dockery , Inc. They built buildings and numerous homes in and around LaGrange, Illinois. William handled the majority of the business aspects of the company. Upon Carl's death, William assumed responsibilities for the company until his illness.

He leaves to morn his loss: A devoted wife, Willie Mae, of the home, a step son, George Thomas Dockery , a step grand daughter, Charisma Dockery; a brother, Thomas Dockery of Capitol Heights , Maryland; two sisters, Anna Sue O'Neal of LaGrange, Illinois and Mary Emma Hairston of Dandridge,
Tennessee; and other relatives and friends.

Services and burial were held at Concord AME Zion Church, Concord, Tennessee. Interment was at Pleasant Forest Cemetery in Concord, Tennessee.
