KOKOMOOR, DR. MARVIN LAVON, 87 Gainesville -

Dr. Marvin Lavon Kokomoor, age 87, died April 26, 2007 in Gainesville, Dr. Kokomoor was born in Edgerton, Ohio, and moved to Gainesville in 1927 from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Kokomoor was a graduate of the University of Florida and University of Michigan Medical schools. He was a WWII Army veteran. Dr. Kokomoor was a doctor at Alachua General Hospital from 1950-1990, he was a pioneer Pediatrician here in Gainesville. He was a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club, and Charter member of University United Methodist Church.. Dr. Kokomoor was preceded in death by his first wife; Mabel McAliley and son; Henry Albert Kokomoor. Survived by his wife; Evelyn P. Kokomoor of Melrose, Daughter; Karen Folsom of Alpharetta, GA, son; Franklin Wesley Kokomoor of Akron, OH, Daughter; Mary Weller Kokomoor of Gainesville, Stepchildren; Jenese Sauls of Melrose, Howard Butts of Jupiter, FL, Karl Butts of Melrose, Jay Butts of Inverness, FL, Sister; Gretchen Brill of Gainesville, Brother; Rev. Donald Kokomoor of Palm Harbor, FL, 4 Grandchildren, 6 Step Grandchildren , and 2 Great Grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held Monday, April 30, 2007, at 11:00am at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 N. Main Street, Gainesville. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to The Kokomoor Fund, University of Florida Dept. of Pediatrics, Attn: Paul Gales of Pediatrics, Box 103491, Gainesville, FL 32610.
