Markleville, March 7
-- Frank Barnett, age 63, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday at his home here after an illness of nearly three years' duration. He had worked as a carpenter most of his life and from 1937 until one year ago was a co-owner of the Barnett-Woolman Lumber Co. here.
He was born in Point Pleasant, West Va., the son of Benjamin and Margaret Barnett. He moved to Markleville while still a small child, with his parents. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Markleville.
The body was taken to the Valorous C. Rector funeral home and will be returned to the residence Saturday evening. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the local Methodist church with the Rev. O. S. Kent in charge. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg cemetery.
Surviving are the wife, Eva Barnett; two sons, Jerome Barnett, Anderson, R. R. 4 and Lowell Barnett, Muncie, R. R. 5; a nephew, Owen Junior Barnett, Anderson; a step-son, Merle C. Lukens, Anderson; an aunt, Mrs. George Hall, Wabash; an uncle, Jim Barnett, Point Pleasant; several cousins in Wabash, and four grandchildren.
