She was born in Walker County, Texas to George Garrett and Myrtle Hendryx Garrett. She was a sixty year resident of Port Neches and had also lived in Corpus Christi for five years and La Porte the past two years.
She was a retired Port Neches-Groves ISD teacher with thirty years of service and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Blanchard.
Survivors include her son, Dan Blanchard and wife, Kay; sister, Norma Babione; grandchildren, Dannah Walter and husband, Jim; Paul Blanchard and wife, Cheryl; Kayla Blanchard and triplet grandsons, Henry, Avery, and Jonathon Blanchard; great grandchildren, Jameson, Madison, Noelle, and Jackson.
