Henry Hunter. of Springfield, a lineman in the employe of the Central Illinois Utilities company lies dead today as a result of coming in contact with a large tension wire yesterday afternoon near Virden. Hunter and several others were engaged in stringing up a number of wires from Kincaid to Virden and had completed their task. Yesterday afternoon Hunter was astride a pole making some final connections when he accidentally touched the live wire, which was carrying over 2,300 volts of electricity. At that time he was working about one mile north of Virden. Before any of his companions reach him he had expired.
Hunter was about 25 years of age and has been employed by the Utilities company which is a subsidiary of the Peabody Coal company for some time. Until a short time ago he had resided at South Thirteenth street. He is survived by a wife and two children.
