Connie Joyce Theobald Manwill passed away Monday, October 23, 2000, at home after a valiant fight with cancer.
She was born Feb. 23, 1932 in Hinckley, Utah to Carl G. and Florence LaVern Croft Theobald.
She was educated in Hinckley, Utah, and later attended Brigham Young University for two years.
She married Marion C Manwill in Hinckley, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 2, 1955. Five children were born to this union, three daughters and two sons. They moved to Payson, Utah in July 1969 and lived in the Payson 7th Ward. Joyce worked to help put her husband through college, but wanted to be known as a home maker.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many offices over the years. She helped to establish a Special Primary for handicapped children in the Payson and Santaquin Stakes, and at BYU. She was a member of the Payson Civic Chorale and the Jr. Cultus Club. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Marion; daughter Mary Jo (Robert) Conder, Riverton, Utah; Lane Marion (Lori) Santaquin; Linda Jo (Thane) Twiggs, Houston, Texas; Becky Jo (Micah) Rutsch, Lehi. Brothers, Leon Theobald, Delta; Paul (Dorothy) Theobald, Orem; Merlin (Beulah) Theobald, St. George; and sisters, Eda (Blair) Maxfield, Cedar City; and Grace Waldren, Bountiful. 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Steven Wayne Manwill; her father and mother; brothers, Golden (Carol) Theobald; and Milton V. Theobald; and sister Elaine (Fred) Turner.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2000, at 1p.m. at the Payson South Stake House, 711 South 600 East, Payson, Utah. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah, and 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. at the stake center.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
