Mr. Penton, a lifelong resident of Escambia County, was a member of the First Pentecostal Holliness Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Theresa Penton of Pensacola; two daughters, Mrs. Isabelle Jones of Beulah and Mrs. Vermell Wozniak of Warrington; five sons, Alfred Penton of Beulah, Columbus Penton, Jesse Penton Jr., Alvin Penton, and Lonnie Penton, all of Pensacola; a sister, Miss Mattie Bell Penton of Beulah; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. J.E. McGraw and the Rev. Ken Sumrall officiating.
The body will be moved from Fisher-Pou Chapel to the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Honorary pallbearers will be James McGhee, G.L. Peaden, Toy Cook, W.R. Gay, W.H. Thomas and Riley Sapp.
Active pallbearers will be A.J. Dunford, Donald Edeker, H.W. Henderson, James Lloyd, D. Elliot, and M.B. Jernigan.
Burial will be in the Beulah Cemetery.
