Heber Grant Hammon, Jr., 58, died March 23, 1994 in Concord, California of cancer.

He was born Nov. 18, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Heber Grant and Denise Brenchley Hammon.

He married Karen Call, June 15, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He graduated with a B.S. from the University of Utah and a M.S. degree from San Francisco State University. He was raised in Utah. He lived two years in Europe, 18 years in San Bruno, Calif., and 17 years in Concord, Calif.

He worked 33 years as an auditor with the U.S. General Accounting Office and as the Chief Finance Officer with the West Coast U.S. Maritime Administration. He retired in 1990.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as Bishop of two wards, and as a member of the High Council of three stakes.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and competitive skeet shooter. He was the past secretary of NORCAL Skeet Shooting Association, United Sportsmen, and Bay Point Rod and Gun Club; Treasurer of the Corporation of United Sportsmen; and served on the California Skeet Shooting Association Board.

He was preceded in death by his father, Heber Grant Hammon; and infant sister, Leila Elaine Hammon.

Funeral services will be held in the Sunset Stake Center, Monday, March 28, 1994 at 1 p.m.
Family will meet friends starting at 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Services will be conducted by a friend, Bishop Jack O'Driscoll.

Burial will be in the Roy City Cemetery.
