George E. Craft passed from this life at his home near Massena, Wednesday morning July 14, 1926 about 11 o'clock aged 59 years, 11 months and 3 days. Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church in Reno Saturday morning at 9 o'clock conducted by Rev. Father Dower adn the internment in the Calvary cemetery in Corning.
George E. Craft, son of John and Rebecca Craft was born Aug 11 1866 at Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He came to Iowa with his parents at the age of 12 years and located in Monroe in Jasper County, later he came to Adams county with his brother William and other members of his father's family. He resided in Corning for some time and was here married to Miss Maggie Manrose some years ago. Mr. Craft has been ill with anemia for some time and had spent three weeks this summer in Corning with his sister, Miss Anna Craft, and was taking treatments for his trouble, seeming a trifle better when he returned home.
Mr. Craft was well known and respected in this community and he will be mourned by many friends. HE is survived by his wife and the following children: Mabel, now Mrs. J. E. O'Dell of Fort Dodge; Harold of Villisca; Joe of Corning; Mrs. Andrew Etrada of Hysham, Mont.; Miss Agnes and John at home and one granddaughter, who made her home with her grandparents, Mary Farris. One daughter, Mrs. P. A. Farris, preceded Mr. Craft in death. Besides those mentioned, Mr. Craft is survived by 2 brothers, Charles Craft of Oakland, Cal; Harry in McCleary, Wash; and one sister, Miss Anna Craft of Corning, also other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Frank Hood, a sister of Mrs. George Craft, came over from Creston to attend the funeral of Mr. Craft.
