Harold married Marie E. Hirschfield in Crook on Jan. 5, 1950. They lived in northeast Colorado, Sedgewick County, before moving to Estes Park and then to Loveland. Marie preceded him in death on Nov. 17, 2006.
Harold had worked in heavy construction, forestry, stone masonry and carpentry prior to garage door installations, retiring in May 2006. Harold was first a family man, loving and being interested in them. His added interests included the out-of-doors, hunting, fishing and camping.
Harold is survived by a son, Edward J. Sullivan and wife Theresa of Albuquerque; a daughter, Rose Schmidt and husband Steve of Berthoud; three grandchildren Renee Schachterle and husband James of Berthoud, Ryan Sheets and wife Kimberly of Loveland, Sharon Sullivan of Albuquerque; five great-grandchildren, Morgan, Jordan, and Johnny Schachterle of Berthoud, Rex Sheets and Joseph Wilson of Loveland; a sister, Margaret Krenning of Fort Collins.
Three brothers predeceased.
Recitation of the rosary 7 p.m. Monday, Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home. Service will be at noon Tuesday, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment Loveland Burial Park with military honors. Memorial contributions to Hospice of Larimer County, 305 Carpenter Road, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
