On Sunday morning, April 22, 1900, at three o'clock, occurred at her home the death of Mrs. Jerome P. Knight who for many years had been a resident of Fulton, and will be sadly missed by the many friend, who have known her daily life to have been one of devoted kindess, and whose trusting loving disposition had endeared her to all.
Mrs. Knight was born June 29, 1852, in Berkshire county, Mass., Her parents were Julius and Lydia Hamblin, both now deceased. Her maiden name was Mary L. Hamblin after to her marriage at Dartford, Wisconsin, to Jerome P. Knight, March 20, 1878, they made their residence for some months at Round Grove, coming from there to Fulton where they have since continuously resided.
Mrs. Knight has been a great sufferer for several years and for the past four years has seldom been free from pain, which she bore with the gentle patient fortitude which won the love and respect of all with whom she came in contact. Of the immediate family there remains the husband and an only son Justin P. Knight, well known as the Fulton agent of the American Express Company, also a sister, Mrs. P. G. Furman of Allenville, Wis., and an uncle, Milo Chapin of Prophetstown.
The funeral services were held at the family home on Prairie street, Tuesday afternoon, April 24, at two o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Cary F. Moore.
