Dean Edgar Shawley, 76, who retired as a utility repairman for Sprint, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, in Tallahassee. He is survived by his wife, Lency Spears Shawley. The service will be graveside at Bonifay Cemetery in Bonifay. He was born in Bellefonte, Pa., and was a U.S. Army veteran. He attended Ivan Assembly of God church and was a member of the Esther Masonic Lodge No. 144 in Bonifay. Other survivors include a son, Jimmy Lee; a stepson, Jimmy Spears; three daughters, Sharon Day, Brenda Land and Charlotte Skipper; a stepdaughter, Katie Miller; a brother, Johnny Shawley; four sisters, Doris Robinson, Dorothy Garbrick, Martha Reese and Shirley Davidson; 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Estelle Shawley; a brother, David Shawley; and a sister, Verda Coakley.
