Nancy was born circa 1761 at Cedar Springs, Mifflin Co., PA, daughter of Robert and Martha Patterson Nelson. She lived in 1770 at Fermanaugh Township, Cumberland Co., PA. She married James Bogle, son of Joseph Bogle and Jean Jane McIntire, on 1 Jan 1782; she made a sampler discussed here: "We have the handi-work of his wife, Nancy (Nelson) Bogle. It is an old sampler, in which she stitched with a skilled hand the record of her marriage, of their children's birth and of her husband's death." p.22, Bogle Family Records compiled by Leila Mason Eldridge, 1937 (my Mother). As of 1 Jan 1782, her married name was Nancy Bogle, as of 9 May 1791, her married name was Nancy Scott. She married William Scott on 9 May 1791. She died on 6 Apr 1811 at Blount Co., TN; date from F.M. Eldridge, Sr. and is buried in Eusebia Cemetery, Blount Co., TN. One source says she died in Aug 1828 at TN.
