Violet A. Clark, 88, of Somerset, formerly of Curwensville RD, died Friday at The Heritage in Somerset.
She was born in Chestcreek, Pa., daughter of the late James and Martha (Guthrie) Clark Rainey. She married Alexander Clark, who preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1989.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Janet Clark; brothers: Bruce, Wilbur and Ralph; and sisters: Mary, Ruby, Elsie and Hazel. Surviving are children: Mrs. George "Pete" (Shirley) Hescox Jr. of Felton, Del., David Clark of Osceola Mills, Pa., Donald Lee Clark, married to the former Gay Keith, of Shanksville, Mrs. David (Nancy) Damico of Somerset and Mrs. Frank (Rose) Jenese of Niagara Falls; grandchildren: Dawn Lynn Greenaway, Robert James Greenaway, Nichole Ann Hescox, Angie Sue Leichebich, Maryanne Jordan, Alex Lee Clark, Amanda Dawn Peck and David Francis Damico; great-grandchildren: Grey, Clay, Autumn, Emily, Kaitlyn, Justin, Jacob, Luke, Maeve, Jared and Ella; a brother, Herbert (Helen) Rainey of Houtzdale; and a special nephew, William "Bill" (Jean) Hewitt of Curwensville.
She was a member of the Ansonville Baptist Church and later attended Somerset Alliance Church, where she was a part of WDS. She also enjoyed going to TOPS. She was very dedicated to her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fruit Hill Presbyterian Church, Ansonville, Pa., where a service will be held after with the Rev. Scott Ream officiating. Interment at Fruit Hill Cemetery.
