POCAHONTAS — Mary Alice Pope, 86, of Pocahontas died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, at a Hendersonville, Tenn., hospital. She was born in Van Buren, was a member of the O'Bryan pioneer family and a former teacher at Old Rena School. She was the widow of Charles Everett Pope.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy Jenkins of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Donna Breen of Van Buren; a son, Earl Pope of River Ridge, La.; two sisters, Beatrice Coffinbarger of San Jose, Calif., and Wallace Harer of Susanville, Calif.; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Lusk, Rick Jenkins, Jim Black, Bob Whitney, Ray Snodgras and Jerry Sallee.
