Jack Gibson Smithson, 69, of Iraan, died April 23, 1991 in Iraan General Hospital. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 26, in the Iraan Church of Christ with Phillip Lammons officiating, assisted by Ron Fant. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery.

Mr. Smithson was born Feb. 18, 1922 in Stanton. He married Annie Marie Westerman Sept. 10, 1946, in Midland, Texas. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired in 1984 from Helmerich and Payne. He was a member of the Church of Christ and lifetime member of the American Quarterhorse Association.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Sue Powell of Grandy, New Mexico, Leta Crimm of Austin and Lori Turk of Dryden; three sons: John Smithson of El Toro, California, Tom Smithson of Iraan, and Boyce Smithson of Midland, Texas and eleven grandchildren.

Richard W. Box Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
